Miranda Rumfelt was a transportation design student with a background in automotive restoration and racing. She works at General Motors Design as a clay sculptor. Miranda was raised in The Motor City by a family of “wrenchers”, and her life revolved around American Muscle cars. Miranda decided to pursue her passion for cars and enrolled in Drive One Detroit — a vocational program where she learned the ins and outs of classic car restoration and race car building. When she was a freshman in highschool, Miranda joined the Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society (MITES) Competition, where she made a ⅓ scale clay model of her dad’s 1970 AMC AMX, and was able to win first place, most creative, and received a $10,000 scholarship.
